European Association of national associations of travel agencies and tour operators (ECTAA), which represents more than 80,000 travel agents and tour operators in Europe, held its 104th bi-annual meeting on 2nd December 2011 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Dubrovnik has recently been linked by air to Athens and from the beginning of June until the end of September it will be air linked with Moscow.
The most famous tourist guide in the world, Lonely Planet, has recently published a guide entitled «Croatia»in which the authors Anja Mutić and Iain Stewart published information that they have gathered on their travels around all parts of Croatia.
The Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) has recently signed a marketing collaboration contract with the European National Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Associations (ECTAA) which has 31 member countries and includes more than 80 thousand travel agents.
UNWTO Secretary-general, Mr. Taleb Rifai, met with the Croatian Prime Minister, Ms. Jadranka Kosor, and the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Damir Bajs, to discuss tourism development in the country during a visit to Croatia (August 20-21, 2010). The Prime Minister expressed her full support for the tourism sector, underlining its crucial role in economic growth and development.
