Tourist results same as last year except for 1% drop in overnights - 12.10.2009
In fact, 1% drop in overnight stays is an excellent result considering the expected 25% drop in tourist revenues. All other tourist indicators remained as last year, Minister of Tourism, Damir Bajs, said.
"In first eight months, almost 12,500 workers were employed, which only proves the importance of tourism for country's economy. In September alone, the number of tourists went up 5.2%, with 7.2% more overnight stays.
In first nine months, there were 55.2mn overnight stays and 1mn tourist vists, 87% of them realized by foreigners.
