Croatia expects EUR 7.3 billion in tourism revenue next year - 21.12.2007
The projections were made at an inaugural session of the National Tourist Board (HTZ) at Zagreb's Sheraton Hotel on Friday.
The session was attended by over 200 representatives of local tourist boards and the tourist industry.
HTZ Director Niko Bulic said that this year's expectations of about EUR 7 billion in revenue exceeded plans, and that a 7.5 per cent increase in the number of tourist arrivals and a 5.6 per cent increase in the number of bed-nights was a great success.
He presented the HTZ work plan for 2008, saying that the focus would be on increasing the occupancy of accommodation facilities and promoting Croatia as a camping destination.
The meeting adopted the 2008 work plan and elected 10 new members of the HTZ Tourist Council for the next four years.
