A valid driving licence, automobile registration card and your green card (unless regulated differently) are necessary for entry into Croatia with a vehicle. All damage to vehicle must be reported at the border when entering the country.
International driving licence is generally not required but national licence has to be officially translated major languages.

Traffic drives on the right. Traffic regulations on Croatian roads are the same as in the rest of Europe. Speed limits are posted along the roads. Unless posted otherwise, the speed limits are as follows: dual carriageway motorways 130 km/h, other highways 90 km/h, roads in residential areas 60 km/h. The maximum allowed speed for passenger cars with trailers is 80 km/h. Petrol sold at petrol stations is leaded super (98), unleaded (91 and 95) and diesel. Fuel can be paid with Diners Club card, Eurocard/Mastercard and other major credit/debit cards.
Road conditions on-line. Road assistance is organised by HAK (Croatian Automobile Club) and it operates on major roads and in towns. Unique phone number is available to drivers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day: 987 (for mobile phone calls you should dial prefix 01 if you are in Croatia or +385 1 from abroad).

Members of ADAC and OAMTC can also contact their representative at 01 34 40 666 in high season Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in other months Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Since HAK is a member of AlT and FIA, repairs can be paid with credit letters of foreign automobile clubs. As a franchise partner of ARC TRANSISTANCE, HAK (Croatian Automobile Club) provides free services and guarantees mobility to the owners of he ARC card.
Car rental and taxi services exists in all towns, major tourist resorts and airports. On islands scooters are rented by travel agencies and travel services. Croatian travel agencies, specialized in car rentals and rent a car companies - members of UHPA have at their disposal own fleets of new cars, limousines, minibuses and jeeps. They can be rented with or without driver, to be used in Croatia only or left in other countries (additional fee is charged).
